I have a thick cloth face cover, but I just want to know if it is considered face protection.

Not as hot as a nylon balaclava AND that. I lasted about 3 minutes before I tore them both off. It was slightly difficult to breath slowly through 2 layers of cloth.

Check into the Iron face mask...very cheap and way more comfortable than that.
A step up from the Iron Face mask is the "Breacher Mask" designed by our own Tinman.
You will see both being used on the field.

You mean London?
I'll stick with mine a game or two, then see about getting the Iron Face mask.
