PostSubject: TSD L96 sighting problem   Wed Jul 07, 2010 6:12 pm

The scope on my TSD L96 won't sight in for some reason. I'm not sure if it is the scope or the gun. I'll adjust it, fire a round, and it's dead on, then fire another round and it's too high or low. It's not too hard to just compensate for it, but I would like to have a sighted scope. Any solutions/ideas/suggestions?

As far as I have known (knowing Snipers in Airsoft and trying to Snipe myself with my Sniper Rifle I had) it is pretty close to impossible to have a BB fly perfectly straight dead center into the crosshairs of your scope Every. Single. Time. I've never known an instance to where a Sniper Rifle (upgraded or not) for Airsoft never had to be compensated for. If I'm in the wrong, somebody correct me...but I'm pretty sure this is true.

Leo correct on this its almost impossible to get it dead on but if you can hit within a say six inch circle you're doing pretty good, I suggest maybe try using a heavier BB

Yup a heavier BB will cause a straighter flight path...generally I have heard that the staple for Sniping should be at LEAST .30s....higher if you can afford it.

I'm using .3's at the moment, and I can understand a little variation, but when one shot seems to go two feet high, and the next a foot low, there might be something not right. It's not too bad, about 4 of every 5 shots will go the same way, but then there's that contrary BB that seems determined to go somewhere completely different. It may just be me being OCD, but I'm not sure. I do have the stock scope by the way, in case anyone knows if it is defective or just plain crappy.

Sounds like what the general sniper rifle does...every 4-5 shots...you get a rebel BB.

Well, after my BB's come up with a general concensus, I'll sight in for that. Darn inconsistencies.

Might try going with a better hopup bucking depnding on your fps I would try a madbull bucking, and also a tightbore barrel will also get you some tighter grouping

the thing is... no matter how much you spend on barrels, bb's, hopups etc., you will never reach a point where the bb's hit the same place everytime

Well, as it turns out, I was just sighting it wrong. Instead of sighting by grouping, I was sighting shot to shot. Now I feel dumb. Embarassed

On the other hand, I'm really happy that there's nothing wrong with my gun. Now I can go PWN some people with it. Twisted Evil
