I just ran my first trouble-shoot and repair on my M16! Somehow a black BB was just a bit too large to go down the barrel. Boots, I am never borrowing your mags again. Just kidding.

I'm thinking about getting my M16 upgraded with a 509mm tightbore barrel, a new hop-up bucking, and maybe a new spring. Anyone know if there is a way to make it only semi-auto? If this thing goes over 420 - 440 fps, it shouldn't be full-auto.

Set the firing to semi-auto on the gun. And most people who play at this field have their guns running around 420-440 anyway...and we all play on full auto.

True but anything over 420 needs a 100 foot M.E.D.

There are ways to make it semi-only. We can chrono your gun next time your out.
If your only changing the barrel and bucking I don't think it will put you over the fps limit. But the selector plate can be trimmed to make it semi only. They are a couple of more ways also but would require some body augmentation.

Is there a way to check what spring a gun already has? I would hate to accidentally downgrade. I was thinking about the PDI 300% spring, which I'm pretty sure is better than the one I have. Are any of you guys using upgraded springs?

Also, my gun is supposed to be 400 fps already.

If its shooting 400 then you have an M120 spring.
The only reason to change out a spring would be to increase or decrease FPS
The benifit of downgrading a spring would be to achive a small increase in rate of fire and to use the gun in CQB.

I was thinking about making it a bit more powerful. Do you know what fps the M160 spring has?

Enough to destroy your mech box! I would stay away from a m160 that will put your fps way up there but at the same time stress your mech box. You would also have to upgrade your gears to cnc steel torque up gears and run a reinforced mech box, a stronger motor, a harder bucking, and a more powerful battery.

Systema m160 spring will be around 500 to 550 fps.

affraid
Wow. I don't think I need that much power. Is there a spring that wouldn't require extensive expensive upgrading? Maybe an M130 if such a thing exists?

My opinion is DO NOT open a mechbox unless you need to do another repair.
Then while ya got it open do any upgrades then. If you make your AEG to powerful it will limit its use anyway.

Ah yeah M.E.D.s...those pesky little things. Forgot about them. (Just kidding). I only said that we all played on full auto because I figured the whole M.E.D. thing went without saying Razz.
