PostSubject: New APS Rifle and Lipo.   Mon Oct 17, 2011 9:05 pm

Hey Alpine. So I just took apart that APS (codename Storm) that I bought from you, because after 2 weekends in a row of use, the gears locked up. The bolt locked to the rear and refused to budge. So I disassembled the Gear Box, and tried to identify the problem, but failed. I put it back together, and took it apart 5 times in an attempt to figure out the issue, and kept getting the same result. It would fire once or twice, then it would lock up, bolt to the rear. So this last time I when I reassembled the weapon, I disabled the blowback feature, and what do you know, She's running like a champ. I also installed new connectors on both the Motor end and the Battery contact end of the weapon, turns out the connectors were lose, and only being held together by the wrapping around each one. My question is, why would the blowback affect the bolt chamber? I couldnt see any evidence of fouling up inside the Box. The only reason I disabled it was a spur of the moment idea. Any thoughts?

Finally the Lipo Battery I got with the weapon refuses to hold a charge for more than a few seconds. I have charged it on the only chargers I have, Tenergy Smart Chargers, which are the same ones I charge all of my other batteries on. Ive noticed the Lipo seems to have bulged out, but Im not sure what that has to do with anything. So what are your thoughts on that? Was the Lipo overcharged? Or just a bad battery to begin with?

Im only trying to gather Information. I have found what seems to be a great website to buy Batteries from, and I want to find out if theres anything else I can do to fix the equipment I have before I buy new ones. Storm seems to be running great for now though, so at least thats one thing I hopefully shouldnt have to worry about for a while longer. And in the process Im getting pretty good at working on my own stuff lol.

Let me know what you think.

I'll second that -- bulging battery... not good.

Lipo's have to be charged on lipo chargers and if you charge thur the main connector and balancer has to be pluged into the small balancer port. the Small white plug. That lipo that bulged up is now trash do not try and use it. You'll need to get a new one.

Don't use the LiPo it has a chance of blowing up. Literally blowing up. You should have only charged a LiPo battery with a LiPo charger. I left my LiPo battery out in the sun too long one time and it puffed out, had to throw it away because it's dangerous. Sorry man but your LiPo battery is completely useless now. Should have asked around...I got a LiPo charger for sale. Smile
