Don't have alot of details as of yet because we are co- sponsoring this event and I have to meet with Chad with mantis to work out details. I just wanted to get everybody ready to save some coin for this event. Cool

50 bucks means noone will show. There has to be a happy medium between too little and too much to charge. Seems to me 20 or 25 dollars will not scare anyone away, thus lead to a much bigger turnout. Frankly at 50 dollars I can't do it...and wouldn't.

Well I don't think we'll have to much say so in the price of the event. All of this is still in the works. They are talking of having ex Army Rangers do a demo and classes for sniping. And youcan possibly get a t-shirt patch and a goodie bag. Also the may have some sponcers that will be there also. OP Homefront wants this to be huge. So they are going to get some cool giveaways and raffels. I just wanted to put it out there so anyone who wanted to go would have a chance to save up some money. I know I have to budget things like this to make sure I have the cash to go. So heads up as far out as possible is a good thing for me. If people can't make it I understand so no pressure from me. Just wanted to spark some interest and start letting folks know whats coming down the pipe.

They had an event and charged 35 bucks and noone showed. I understand there will be more, but it is still cost prohibitive.

Guys....to elaborate, you need to understand the cost structure of this event...

First, it's a fund raiser for Operation Home Front more than half of the entry fees go to help their programs and to provide a great T-Shirt, patch, and goodie bag for all participants. The rest goes towards field rent, staff, Op execution, porto johns, etc. This also gives you a free entry into a drawing that will features some pretty cool prizes dontated by OnTarget Airsoft, OHF, and a bunch of our corporate sponsors.

OHF has a huge reach in the military and private sector, they are pulling out all the stops to make sure this event is a class act.

Mantis runs some great ops, and has had some very succesful large events 100+

We have locked in a bunch of Army Rangers (Former and current). They will be teaching classes on Sniper tactics, squad movement, tactics, gear useage, etc. We are also pulling in corporate sponsors to do product demos, etc. We are working to make sure the breaks between games provides some really cool activities.

More details are forthcoming. For more info on Operation Home Front:

My purpose was not to offend, and if I came across badly, I apologize. My reasoning is that these are hard economic times. Lots of people out of work. We personally donated a good bit to Haiti relief. The reason I am so excited about Area 13 is that it has saved me close to 250 dollars a year in field fees. Otherwise I might not still be playing airsoft.

Unfortunately, I cannot justify spending that much money for the day. It's not just 50 dollars for sirsoft, but gas, bbs, food, and possibly modding my guns depending on field rules. Starting to sound like 100 dollars. Would be a lot cheaper for me just to donate 25 bucks to Op Homefront, and not pay for all the other stuff. And I may do just that.

I just believe, based on the attendance at other higher field fee events, that 50 dollars may seriously limit turnout. I certainly hope it doesn't. I wish for a great event and for Op Homefront to really raise some serious money. Regretfully, I won't be able to make it.

I totaly support Operation homefront, I think this evnt will be fun and if I can make it will try and be there to support you guys and represent Area 13 But I also understand where some of the other guys are coming from I for one like others We have our family that plays as well me and my group alone its a cost of $150.00
Not counting food ,Gas So I can understand where the concern is.But maybe we could get Alpine to start up a donation bucket we could give you guys for those who might want to donate for the cause but couldnt make it for the event. But also I might add We truly support you guys and are thankful for all you do for us.

I'll get with the guys on PWNY about it, but me personally as soon as I turn the key in the ingnition to get the day underway I'd already be over $100 (game fees and gas up and back at the gas prices as they are now) tack on at lesat another $50 for bb's, food, misc stuff, your over another $150 if not more. Exhibitions, great causes and free patches aside, as much as I would like to make it. I doubt I make this one.
